World Peace Day...or something like that

Apparently tomorrow is World Peace Day or Non-Violence Day or something along those lines.  The kids in my school had activities planned for it yesterday, but seeing as I don't work Fridays I wasn't there to see what that all entailed.  They did learn a song called 'Beautiful That Way' and I probably listened to it about twenty to thirty times within the three days I worked this past week.  They were decorating the school on Thursday (which really doesn't make sense - they decorated for Christmas like two days before Christmas break.  I feel like they should decorate more in advance to leave it up longer.  Anyway.) and all the classes have been learning this song for a few weeks now.

Another weird observation is that they teach Religion at school.  It's a public school so I didn't think they would, but they most definitely do.  I first noticed earlier in the year when a girl was coloring a picture that looked a shepherd or someone along those lines, but now I know for a fact that they teach a class about it.

The song that the kids sang is pretty catchy in that slow-ballady kind of way.  The last three lines made me think of 'Words of Wisdom' in the words of Mr. Tibbs from high school.  So, here are the words, or should I say lyrics, of wisdom:

We'll forget about our sorrow
And think about a brighter day
'Cause life is beautiful that way
